Towards a Dark Night ~ Brooklyn, NY

If you only walk on sunny days you’ll never reach your destination ~ Paulo Coelho

Ominous thunderclouds, the roar of thunder, and the crackle of lighting. New York’s heat wave finally broken.

On these summer days, I can’t imagine not being near the cool breeze of the river. Today though, lunch was interrupted.

~ Watching the storm brew; listening to the thunder rumbles of an upset sky ~

~ Final moments at the shoreline ~~ As the raindrops started to fall and lightning zigzagged over Gotham, the Park was pronounced ‘closed’ for safety reasons ~

    • A moody tone 🙂 A change from the sun, light, and heat! We finally got rain Karen! The sushi was really good – salmon especially. Enjoy it tomorrow maybe? Thanks Karen!

    • Adrian! Aren’t they so Gotham-esque?! Now, what time is it in the UK? Sushi for brekkie? It is really good – and my hubby made some iced Matcha infused milk to complement. (that is, Matcha mixed with soy milk!) thank you!

  1. I love rain and thunderstorms. You captured the atmosphere nicely. The last photo and the one with the cobbles are my favourites here. 🙂

  2. Love the photos with the girl and the birds (btw, I believe they are Canadian geese 🙂 ). Another lovely post, in a different note than usual. But rain and clouds have their own charm, haven’t they? Especially during summer.

    • Hi Sorin, I would be wary to photograph in the rain but now I enjoy it for that very reason – their charm. They set their own mood. That little girl was so sweet – she was so upset that the Canadian geese(!) walked away from her! I am glad you enjoyed this post. Thank you 🙂

    • I love the quote too! Especially on days like yesterday and today, as it is raining. I have found I am enjoying the rain alot more because I’m more accepting of it. Sounds crazy but true! Thank you!

  3. Lovely post! I love those kind of days when it suddenly cools down and the thunder starts rumbling, then the fresh air smells so nice 🙂 Your lunch looks amazing! 🙂
